While renovating an Edwardian terraced house, we wanted to reintroduce as many character features into our design as possible. We had decided on hand-made one-over-one sash windows early in the process and of course on shutters for our preferred complementary finish. As a result we commenced the search for a suitable shutter to meet our requirements. While we conducted a number of Google searches and attended a number of trade shows, receiving several quotations and valuable nuggets of information along the way, we realised that there were many options and many tough choices to make (e.g. shutter materials, styles, finishes, price, etc).
However, while persevering through the process in the end we felt that Bennie Wrafter and the team at CustomWest provided us with the best advice and were indeed the most straight-talking. Bennie always took the time to explain options thoroughly, while first listening to our requirements and concerns; while the implementation service offered by the Munster area installer (Donal) was exceptional (in terms of respect for your home and the attention to detail during installation).
Overall, the experience of investing in shutters from CustomWest in the first instance and the quality of the install promised and delivered has left us extremely satisfied with our choice and investment. Indeed, our shutters have been a very worthwhile long term investment in our home; they are functional yet extremely attractive and capture the essence of the Edwardian period design. I suppose that is why so many passers-by comment about how well they look and indeed enquire as to where we bought them?
